The company also pledged to train 250,000 people in basic AI skills, according to Monday\’s statement.
Microsoft Vice Chairman and President Brad Smith said: This significant investment reflects our belief that Sweden can significantly benefit from artificial intelligence.
He praised Sweden as one of the most innovative countries and said the country would maintain its leading position with the help of AI.
Due to the abundance of clean energy and hydropower\’s dominant position in the power structure, the Nordic region has become the main target for large energy users.
Both Meta and Google have their own large bases in Northern Europe.
